We love it here & so will you!
There's no summer memory better than those spent in the Northwoods.
The Edgewater Inn is located just west of downtown Eagle River on the largest chain of freshwater inland lakes in the world! Centrally located just minutes from everything including the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, thousands of lakes, fabulous restaurants, golf courses, go-karts, shopping, mini golf, tubing, kayaking, riding stables, and so much more. The area also offers 100's of miles of hiking and biking trails.
The fun doesn't end in the summer. Fall offers a breathtaking blanket of color with trees changing from cherry red to solid gold which is also a sign that Cranberry Fest is just around the corner.
Winter offers a whole new selection of activities including snowshoeing, scenic cross-country skiing, and let's not forget our World Famous Snowmobile Trails.
Come see why so many people throughout the Inn's 100-year history have been drawn to this very special area.
Our History & Heritage
Edgewater Inn & Cottages has been in operation since the 1920s in various venues of hospitality and includes an interesting history. Some of the cottages have been here since the twenties. The Inn however has been changed several times. The most dramatic was when a fire broke out just before Christmas in 1943. The present building was a dance hall originally half-mile away. It was brought over in two sections and reassembled onto the old foundation.
A bar was on the first floor on the east side until 1958 when the property was sold. Extensive remodeling was done in the early '60s. The tavern was removed and rooms were added.
